The study Improved quality of life and prolonged survival in lung cancer patients treated additively with homeopathy involved 16 scientists, the majority of whom are specialists in oncology, from four hospitals, who have worked together for 10 years. The results of the study were published in October 2020 in the prestigious journal The Oncologist. In a recent review report, the Austrian Agency for Scientific Integrity (ÖAWI) accused the study authors of data falsification and data manipulation, an accusation which they strongly reject. ECH strongly supports Prof. Michael Frass as one of its scientific members who has an outstanding track record of peer-reviewed research. Alongside this support, we want to send a clear message to our members, to our patients and to the public and society in general:

We accept discrepancy in medical science when assessed fairly, but we will not tolerate insinuations or accusations of fraud as an argument without clear proof of this.

We draw a red line on the one hand between the discussion of positive, negative, or conflicting results of a certain trial as being the product of any clinical research and, on the other hand, spurious accusations of fraud made by an institution or individual.
